    Sammanfattning : This thesis examines the extension of capitalism in a village in Kigoma Region, Northwest Tanzania, from the point of view of how people experience it. Relying on ten months of field work, interviews, and archival material from the British colonial period, it shows how local conditions of production, and the experiences thereof, are influenced by wider processes of change on a regional, national, and global level.     Sammanfattning : Extension of the voluntary waiting period (VWP) before first insemination after calving, could decrease the frequency of demanding transition periods both at cow and herd level. In the initial study of this thesis, the cows were randomized to an extended (155-205 d) or conventional (35-85 d) VWP and assessed during their first and second lactation. LÄS MER
