  1. 16. Travel mode choice and sustainability: A psychological investigation of the use of a private car and car sharing services

    Författare :Érika Martins Silva Ramos; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis discusses the implications of research-based decision-making to develop socially robust technologies, policies, and urban planning in the transport sector, aiming for an inclusive and more sustainable transport system. What are the travel patterns of both users and non-users of car sharing and private cars in European cities? What are the main psychological aspects of and motives for making a travel mode choice? Study I presents a classification of motives considered as relevant when selecting a mode of transport, and it examines the relative importance of driving habits, car attitudes, descriptive norms, and motives for transport mode choices for commuting, shopping trips, child-related trips, and leisure trips. 2. 17. Incorporation of Departure Time Choice in a Mesoscopic Transportation Model for Stockholm

    Författare :Ida Kristoffersson; Leonid Engelson; Jan Lundgren; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Transport Modelling; Departure Time Choice; Dynamic Traffic Simulation; Time-Varying Congestion Charges; Peak Spreading; Reverse Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Travel demand management policies such as congestion charges encourage car-users to change among other things route, mode and departure time. Departure time may be especially affected by time-varying charges, since car-users can avoid high peak hour charges by travelling earlier or later, so called peak spreading effects. LÄS MER

  3. 18. Investigating the impacts of ICT-mediated services - The case of public transport traveller information

    Författare :Tor Skoglund; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Behavioural change; Intelligent Transport Systems; Travel Planner; Transit; ITS; ICT-mediated traveller information; Public transport; Co-modal Travel Planner; Real-time information system;

    Sammanfattning : Transport is of fundamental importance to modern societies but adjustments are needed to improve the sustainability of the transport systems. Transport of people is an important part of the transport system but also regarding transport of people a shift is necessary from less to more sustainable transport patterns. LÄS MER

  4. 19. Analysis of Travel Patterns from Cellular Network Data

    Författare :Nils Breyer; Clas Rydergren; David Gundlegård; Győző Gidófalvi; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Traffic planners are facing a big challenge with an increasing demand for mobility and a need to drastically reduce the environmental impacts of the transportation system at the same time. The transportation system therefore needs to become more efficient, which requires a good understanding about the actual travel patterns. LÄS MER

  5. 20. Methods for Travel Pattern Analysis Using Large-Scale Passive Data

    Författare :Nils Breyer; Clas Rydergren; David Gundlegård; Yusak Susilo; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Sammanfattning : Comprehensive knowledge of travel patterns is crucial to enable planning for a more efficient traffic system that accommodates human mobility demand. Currently, this knowledge is mainly based on traffic models based on relatively small samples of observations collected from travel surveys and traffic counts. LÄS MER
