  1. 1. Contributions to the Use of Statistical Methods for Improving Continuous Production

    Författare :Francesca Capaci; Erik Vanhatalo; Bjarne Bergquist; Murat Kulahci; Johan Carlson; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Process industry; Continuous process; Statistical process control; Design of experiments; Process improvements; Simulation tool; Engineering process control; Kvalitetsteknik; Quality Technology Management;

    Sammanfattning : Complexity of production processes, high computing capabilities, and massive datasets characterize today’s manufacturing environments, such as those of continuous andbatch production industries. Continuous production has spread gradually acrossdifferent industries, covering a significant part of today’s production. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Energy and Production Planning for Process Industry Supply Chains

    Författare :Martin Waldemarsson; Martin Rudberg; Helene Lidestam; Erik Dotzauer; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Process industry; energy-intensive production systems; production planning; energy planning; Supply chain planning and optimization; energy management;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis addresses industrial energy issues from a production economic perspective. During the past decade, the energy issue has become more important, partly due to rising energy prices in general, but also from a political pressure on environmental awareness concerning the problems with climate change. 3. 3. Process intensification in mechanical pulping : Reduced process complexity and improved energy efficiency

    Författare :Christer Sandberg; Per Engstrand; Jan-Erik Berg; Göran Bengtsson; Mittuniversitetet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Sammanfattning : This work shows that, for newsprint quality grades, the production processes for mechanical pulp can be simplified, and the specific electrical energy demand can be reduced with around 600 kWh/ton (30%). The purpose of the work is to demonstrate how the production cost for mechanical pulps can be decreased through increased energy efficiency and reduced number of unit operations. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Towards Improved Control of TMP Refining Processes

    Författare :Karin Eriksson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; control; dynamic modeling; process limitations; simplified decoupling; Refiner; refining zone temperature; internal interconnections;

    Sammanfattning : The need for improved energy usage has become a key issue in all industrial sectors. In the energy demanding production of mechanical pulps many efforts havefocused on design development, but regarding control of refiners, there is still a potential for improvements. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Precipitation of Kraft Lignin: Yield and Equilibrium

    Författare :Weizhen Zhu; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; lignin precipitation; molecular weight of lignin; 1H and 13C NMR spectra of lignin; black liquor; Poisson-Boltzmann cell model; LignoBoost process;

    Sammanfattning : Kraft pulping is the dominant pulping process used in the world today. The material efficiency in modern kraft pulp mills is, however, only 40−55% and the final product consists mainly of cellulose. Recently, a novel process called “LignoBoost” has been introduced to separate lignin from kraft black liquor. LÄS MER
