1. Wave Energy Converters : An experimental approach to onshore testing, deployments and offshore monitoring
Sammanfattning : The wave energy converter (WEC) concept developed at Uppsala University consists of a point absorbing buoy, directly connected to a permanent magnet linear generator. Since 2006, over a dozen full scale WECs have been deployed at the Lysekil Research Site, on the west coast of Sweden. LÄS MER
2. Prediction horizon requirement in control and extreme load analyses for survivability : Advancements to improve the performance of wave energy technologies
Sammanfattning : The main objective of wave energy converters (WECs) is to ensure reliable electricity production at a competitive cost. Two challenges to achieving this are ensuring an efficient energy conversion and offshore survivability. LÄS MER
3. Brain Tissue Oxygenation in Traumatic Brain Injury : Experimental and Clinical Studies
Sammanfattning : Traumatic brain injury (TBI) is a major cause of death and disability. TBI is frequently followed by cerebral ischemia which is a great contributor to secondary brain damage. The main causes of cerebral ischemia are pathophysiological changes in cerebral blood flow and metabolism. LÄS MER
4. Investigations of some diatomic molecules : the hydrides of selenium, antimony and silicon and the platinum oxide
Sammanfattning : This thesis is an extension and a summary of investigations on the electronic spectra of gaseous SeH/D, SbH/D, PtO and to some minor extent also of gaseous SiH. Rotational analyses are performed on each molecule.SeH/D molecules were generated in photolysis reactions using 12 µs long light flashes. LÄS MER
5. Modelling and Advanced Control of Fully Coupled Wave Energy Converters Subject to Constraints: the Wave-to-wire Approach
Sammanfattning : Ocean wave energy is a promising renewable source to contribute to supplying the world’s energy demand. The Division of Electricity at Uppsala University is developing a technology to capture energy from ocean waves with a wave energy converter (WEC) consisting of a linear permanent magnet generator and a point absorber.
