We have therefore investigated the regulation and maturation of sodium, potassium and hydrogen transport in the gastrointestinal tract.    Sammanfattning : The astroglial cells are abundant in the central nervous system (CNS), where they control and regulate the homeostasis of the extracellular milieu. A change in astroglial cell volume, mediated through activation of neuroactive substances or changes in osmolarity, leads to changes in the size and geometry of the extracellular space volume, which could affect the diffusion and concentration of neuroactive substances.    Sammanfattning : Malignant pleural mesothelioma (MPM) is an aggressive, treatment-resistant tumour. Cisplatin (cis-diamminedichloroplatinum (II)) is the best single-agent chemotherapy for MPM, but platinum-based combination therapies give the best overall response rates.    Sammanfattning : The tubuloglomerular feedback mechanism is an important regulator in the juxtaglomerular apparatus and it detects flow dependent alterations in luminal NaCl concentration ([NaCl]) at the macula densa (MD) cell site via a Na+-K+-2Cl cotransporter.
