  3. 3. Molecular filtration : the study of adsorbents

    Författare :Ebenezer Twumasi; Christer Sjöström; Paolo Tronville; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; adsorbents; activated carbon; alumina; MgCa-silica; carbon-silica composite; characterization; porous parameters; molecular filtration; Other civil engineering and architecture; Övrig samhällsbyggnadsteknik och arkitektur;

    Sammanfattning : Adsorbent materials for gas purification have been studied and developed for application in many areas. It is known that a single adsorbent may not adequately control multiple contaminants. Therefore, the development of adsorbent materials has accelerated over the past two decades, and is today an area attracting a lot of attention. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : Glioblastoma (GBM) is the most common high-grade brain tumor diagnosed in patients who are more than 50 years of age. The standard of care treatment is surgery, followed by radiotherapy and chemotherapy. The median life expectancy of patients is only between 12 to 15 months after receiving current treatment regimes. 5. 5. Macrophage-material surface interactions

    Författare :Christina Gretzer; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Apoptosis; biomaterials; cell-cell interactions; cell-material interactions; cytokines; differentiation; fibrinogen; hydrogen peroxide; LPS; monocytes; particles;

    Sammanfattning : Material surface-stimulated activation of the macrophage and the release of mediators has been suggested to be an important factor for inflammation and tissue regeneration around biomedical implants. Macrophage interactions with particles released from implants as well as macophage-bacteria interactions are also involved in implant loosening processes. LÄS MER
