  2. 12. The influence of opioids on gastric function : experimental and clinical studies

    Författare :Jakob Walldén; Magnus Wattwil; Sven-Egron Thörn; Eldar Søreide; Örebro universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; gastrointestinal motility; gastric emptying; gastric tone; electrogastrography; analgesics; opioids; µ-opioid receptor; polymorphism; Surgery; Kirurgi; Surgery; Kirurgi;

    Sammanfattning : Efter operation och anestesi får patienter ofta en negativ påverkan på magsäck och tarmar. Illamående och kräkningar är ett stort problem och många har svårt att komma igång med intag av föda och normal tarmfunktion då magsäcken och tarmarna ”står stilla”. Flera faktorer bidrar- bl.a. 3. 13. Gastrointestinal symptoms in chronic renal failure. Prevalence and pathophysiological mechanisms

    Författare :Hans Strid; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Chronic renal failure; end-stage renal disease; gastrointestinal symptoms; overuse; proton pump inhibitors; H2-receptor antagonists; quality of life; manometry; small intestinal bacterial overgrowth; gastric emptying; Helicobacter pylori;

    Sammanfattning : Chronic renal failure (CRF) has a varying etiology and is characterised by an increasing accumulation of toxic metabolic waste products in the blood. Malnutrition is a common finding in uraemic patients and is regarded as a marker for morbidity and mortality. Many factors, including gastrointestinal (GI) symptoms, lead to malnutrition in CRF. 4. 14. Prevention of Postoperative Duodenal Ileus by COX-2 Inhibition Improves Duodenal Function in Anaesthetised Rats

    Författare :John Sedin; Olof Nylander; Markus Sjöblom; Lars Fändriks; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; duodenum; motility; enteric nervous system; luminal alkalinisation; CFTR; VIP; luminal Cl-; fluid secretion; solute absorption; mucosal permeability; 51Cr-EDTA; luminal osmolality; luminal hypertonicity; glucose; mannitol; orange juice; parecoxib; hexamethonium; mecamylamine; Physiology; Fysiologi;

    Sammanfattning : Abdominal surgery inhibits gastrointestinal motility, a phenomenon referred to as postoperative ileus. Since the postoperative ileus disturbs duodenal physiology it is important to minimize the side effects of this condition. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : Gastrointestinal motility disorders are common in childhood and in this thesis we look at two of them, i.e. Hirschsprung´s Disease (HD) and gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) in five different studies. LÄS MER
