  1. 1. The influence of opioids on gastric function : experimental and clinical studies

    Författare :Jakob Walldén; Magnus Wattwil; Sven-Egron Thörn; Eldar Søreide; Örebro universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; gastrointestinal motility; gastric emptying; gastric tone; electrogastrography; analgesics; opioids; µ-opioid receptor; polymorphism; Surgery; Kirurgi; Surgery; Kirurgi;

    Sammanfattning : Efter operation och anestesi får patienter ofta en negativ påverkan på magsäck och tarmar. Illamående och kräkningar är ett stort problem och många har svårt att komma igång med intag av föda och normal tarmfunktion då magsäcken och tarmarna ”står stilla”. Flera faktorer bidrar- bl.a. 2. 2. Evaluations of measurement techniques in functional dyspepsia : electrogastrography, satiety drinking test and 14C-urea breath test

    Författare :Shahab Abid; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :functional dyspepsia; electrogastrography; 14C urea breath test; satiety drinking test;

    Sammanfattning : The overall aim of this thesis was to evaluate the clinical usefulness of certain measurement techniques that may be helpful in the understanding of functional dyspepsia (FD). Electrogastrography (EGG) parameters were evaluated and found unable to discriminate one specific motility disorder from other motility disorders of the gut. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Factors affecting body weight development and eating behaviour in patients on continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis treatment

    Författare :Anders Fernström; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :CAPD; computed tomography; dual energy x-ray absorptiometry; electrogastrography; energy intake; ESRD; gastric emptying; HD; intraabdominal fat; protein-energy malnutrition; taste acuity; taste buds;

    Sammanfattning : Continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis (CAPD) and hemodialysis (HD) have different metabolic effects in dialysis patients, since absorption of intraperitoneal glucose implies an additional energy source in CAPD patients. In spite of this, protein-energy malnutrition is known to occur frequently, both in patients on hemodialysis and in patients on CAPD, and an association with increased morbidity and mortality is well established.
