1. Aspects of Flexographic Print Quality and Relationship to some Printing Parameters
Sammanfattning : Flexographic printing is a common printing method in the packaging field. The printing method is characterized primarily by the flexible printing plate and the low viscosity inks which make it suitable for use on almost any substrate. LÄS MER
2. Computer-aided Computation of Abelian integrals and Robust Normal Forms
Sammanfattning : This PhD thesis consists of a summary and seven papers, where various applications of auto-validated computations are studied. In the first paper we describe a rigorous method to determine unknown parameters in a system of ordinary differential equations from measured data with known bounds on the noise of the measurements. 3. Bias and Precision in Biomechanical Exposure Assessment : Making the Most of our Methods
Sammanfattning : Background: Insufficient exposure assessment is a suggested contributing factor to the current lack of clearly characterised relationships between occupational biomechanical risk factors and musculoskeletal disorders. Minimal attention has been paid to the potential bias of measurement tools from expected true values (i.e. LÄS MER
4. Stable phenomena for some automorphism groups in topology
Sammanfattning : This licentiate thesis consists of two papers about topics related to representation stability for different automorphisms groups of topological spaces and manifolds. In Paper I, we study the rational homology groups of \textit{Torelli groups} of smooth, compact and orientable surfaces. 5. Molecular Interactions in Thin Films of Biopolymers, Colloids and Synthetic Polyelectrolytes
Sammanfattning : The development of the layer-by-layer (LbL) technique has turned out to be an efficient way to physically modify the surface properties of different materials, for example to improve the adhesive interactions between fibers in paper. The main objective of the work described in this thesis was to obtain fundamental data concerning the adhesive properties of wood biopolymers and LbL films, including the mechanical properties of the thin films, in order to shed light on the molecular mechanisms responsible for the adhesion between these materials.
