1. Plastic Deformation of Duplex Stainless Steel
Sammanfattning : Duplex austenitic/ferritic stainless steels are increasingly used as an alternative to conventional austenitic grades. Main advantages of the duplex grades are good resistance to corrosion cracking and corrosion fatigue in environments that contain chloride. LÄS MER
2. Transformation phenomena in a super duplex stainless steel
Sammanfattning : Duplex stainless steels consist of about equal fractions offerrite and austenite and are attractive due to their highcorrosion resistance against pitting corrosion and stresscorrosion cracking. The pitting corrosion resistance can bedescribed by the PREN value which is defined asPREN=%Cr+3.3*%Mo+16*%N. LÄS MER
3. On the multiscale modeling of duplex stainless steel
Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with the modeling and simulation ofthe influence of the material substructure on the macroscopicmechanical properties of duplex stainless steel (DSS). Twosubscale levels and their interaction are considered: Grainstructure (mesoscale) and crystallographic structure (microscale). LÄS MER
4. Welds in the lean duplex stainless steel LDX 2101 : effect of microstructure and weld oxides on corrosion properties
Sammanfattning : Duplex stainless steels are a very attractive alternative to austenitic grades due to their higher strength and good corrosion performance. The austenitic grades can often be welded autogenously, while the duplex grades normally require addition of filler metal. LÄS MER
5. Phase separation in duplex stainless steel: characterization and mitigation
Sammanfattning : Duplex stainless steel (DSS) is a category of widely used stainlesssteel, which are strategically important in a variety of applications such asin the food industry, chemical engineering plants and nuclear power plants, due to their attractive combination of mechanical properties and corrosionresistance. However, these steel grades are sensitive to the so-called ‘475°Cembrittlement’, because of a phase separation (PS) phenomenon in theferrite phase, which decomposes into Fe-rich ferrite (α) and Cr-rich ferrite(α'), when exposed to temperatures within the miscibility gap.
