  1. 11. Influence of liquid diffusion on the performance of polymer materials in industrial applications

    Författare :Stefanie Römhild; Mikael Hedenqvist; Lars Berglund; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; LCP; Vectra A950; thermoset resin; FRP; diffusion; disclination; annealing; lining; bonding; long-term properties in water; Polymer chemistry; Polymerkemi;

    Sammanfattning : Diffusion of liquids into and through polymers is an important factor that negatively may influence the durability or lifetime of a polymer structure used in industrial applications. In this work two types of polymers, a liquid crystalline polymer (LCP, Vectra A950) and various thermoset resins as used in fibre reinforced plastics (FRP) process equipment were studied with regard to barrier properties, chemical resistance and long-term performance. Sammanfattning : Coronary artery disease and chronic pain are serious health issues that cause severe discomfort and suffering in society today. Antithrombotic agents and highly potent analgesics play a critical role in improving the recovery process for patients being treated for these diseases. LÄS MER

  3. 13. Mercury immobilization : a requirement for permanent disposal of mercury waste in Sweden

    Författare :Margareta Svensson; Bert Allard; Anders Düker; Björn Öhlander; Örebro universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; mercury; mercury sulphide; cinnabar; stabilization; solidification; encapsulation; monolith leaching; solubility; mercury speciation; diffusion; apparent diffusion coefficient; Chemistry; Kemi; Enviromental Science; Miljövetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : The Swedish Government states that mercury in the Swedish industry and private use shall be collected and waste containing more than 1% of mercury shall be conditioned for permanent storage in proposed groundwater-saturated repository in deep bedrock. The owners of mercury waste in Sweden are responsible for finding ways to the conversion of the mercury waste to insoluble forms. LÄS MER

  4. 14. Design of Thermal Barrier Coatings : A modelling approach

    Författare :Mohit Kumar Gupta; Per Nylén; Nicolaie Markocsan; Christer Persson; Lech Pawlowski; Högskolan Väst; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Thermal barrier coatings; Microstructure; Thermal conductivity; Young’s modulus; Interface roughness; Thermally grown oxide; Lifetime; Finite element modelling; Design; Manufacturing and materials engineering; Produktions- och materialteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Atmospheric plasma sprayed (APS) thermal barrier coatings (TBCs) are commonly used for thermal protection of components in modern gas turbine application such as power generation, marine and aero engines. TBC is a duplex material system consisting of an insulating ceramic topcoat layer and an intermetallic bondcoat layer. LÄS MER

  5. 15. Effects of Citric Acid on Starch-Based Barrier Coatings
