  1. 1. Ductile damage modeling of the machining process

    Författare :SENAD RAZANICA; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Mesh dependence; Johnson-Cook; Ductile fracture; Thermodynamics; Machining simulation; Damage driving energy; Damage evolution; Damage threshold criterion;

    Sammanfattning : Machining processes are among the most common manufacturing processes for producing components used on a daily basis. It is a complex material removal process. Today, the research and development within the manufacturing industry is addressed by cost efficient numerical simulation strategies rather than by costly experimental procedures. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Development of Energy-based Damage and Plasticity Models for Asphalt Concrete Mixtures

    Författare :Ibrahim Onifade; Björn Birgisson; Linbing Wang; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; energy-based models; damage; X-ray computed tomography; continuum plasticity mechanics CPM; effective micro-crack stress; Transportvetenskap; Transport Science;

    Sammanfattning : Characterizing the full range of damage and plastic behaviour of asphalt mixtures under varying strain-rates and stress states is a complex and challenging task. One reason for this  is partly due to the strain rate and temperature dependent nature of the material as well as the variation in the properties of the constituent materials that make up the composite asphalt mixture. 4. 4. Neurotoxicity of β-lactam antibiotics : experimental kinetic and neurophysiological studies

    Författare :Silvia E. Schliamser; Ragnar Norrby; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; benzylpenicillin; blood-brain barrier; ß-lactam antibiotics; CSF; CNS; EEG; imipenem cilastatin; FCE 22101; meningitis; neurotoxicity of; silent-second; thiopental; transport system; uraemia;

    Sammanfattning : The neurotoxic potential of intravenous administered benzylpenicillin (BPC) was studied in rabbits with intact blood-CNS barriers and rabbits with experimental E. coli meningitis. At onset of epileptogenic EEG activity or seizures, serum, CSF and brain tissue were collected for assay of BPC. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : Increasing the operational speed of trains has attracted a lot of interest in the last decades and has brought new challenges, especially in terms of infrastructure design methodology, as it may induce excessive vibrations. Such demands can damage bridges, which in turn increases maintenance costs, endangers the safety of passing trains and disrupts passenger comfort. LÄS MER
