  1. 1. Immunity to Rotavirus infection across ages

    Författare :Konjit Getachew Muleta; Virusrekognition; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Rotavirus; B cells; T cells; Dendritic cells; Mesenteric Lymph Node; CD8 T cells; Maternal protection; IgA; Neonates; Small Inestinal lamina propria; IFNAR signaling;

    Sammanfattning : Rotavirus (RV) is a double-stranded RNA virus that mainly affects young children under the age of five years. It is one of the leading causes of dehydrating gastroenteritis. Every year, about 200,000 child deaths occur due to RVinfection. Vaccines exist and are in use worldwide. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Approaches to analyses of cytotoxic cells. And studies of their role in H. pylori infection

    Författare :Josef Azem; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Helicobacter pylori; mucosal immunology; stomach; duodenum; asymptomatic; duodenal ulcer; gastric adenocarcinoma; NK cells; T cells; B cells; dendritic cells; cytotoxic;

    Sammanfattning : Helicobacter pylori infection causes chronic gastritis that may progress to peptic ulcers or gastric adenocarcinoma and thereby cause major world-wide health problems. Previous studies have shown that CD4+ T cells and the production of the cytokine IFN- × are important components of the immune response to H. pylori in humans. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Generation of Therapeutic T Cells for Prostate Cancer

    Författare :Ole Forsberg; Magnus Essand; Thomas Tötterman; Gustav Gaudernack; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Prostate cancer; T cells; dendritic cells; peptides; cytomegalovirus; adenovirus; immunotherapy; Clinical immunology; Klinisk immunologi; Klinisk immunologi; Clinical Immunology;

    Sammanfattning : The work presented herein focuses on the activation of the adaptive immune system in order to develop T cell-based immunotherapy for viral infections and cancer. The main goal was to identify and activate viral or tumoral antigen-specific T cells by using different identification, isolation and stimulation techniques. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Potential immunoregulatory role of T and dendritic cells in cancer : Investigations based on transcriptional analysis

    Författare :Milad Abolhalaj; Institutionen för immunteknologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Dendritic cells; T cells; head and neck cancer; acute myeloid leukemia; bladder cancer; T cell exhaustion;

    Sammanfattning : Cancer is a complex disease with various genetic and epigenetic driving factors. Cancer cells form a favored microenvironment to sustain their uncontrolled behavior leading to abnormal growth. With standard treatment including chemotherapy, relapse risk is high due to the resistance that cancer cells can develop against chemotherapy agents. LÄS MER

    Författare :Daniel Agardh; Pediatrisk endokrinologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Immunologi; serologi; Medicine human and vertebrates ; Medicin människa och djur ; Immunology; serology; transplantation; villous atrophy; T cells; serological marker; screening; intestinal mucosa; children; celiac disease; CD25; CD8; CD4; autoantibodies; B cells; gluten-free diet; autoimmunity;

    Sammanfattning : Celiac disease is a prevalent small bowel disease in children caused by permanent intolerance against gliadin, which is the alcohol-soluble fraction of the cereal protein gluten in wheat, rye and barley. Celiac disease is characterized by an inflammatory infiltrate of CD4+ T lymphocytes in the intestinal mucosa leading to damage of villous structure and loss of absorptive surface. LÄS MER
