1. Estimating and reducing errors in soil sampling
Sammanfattning : Contaminated sites are sampled and analysed to assess their remediation need. In the process the question arises if the results of the analysis represents the site they are taken from properly. Sampling and preparation is known to induce errors. Results from the analysis of soil samples may be expected to include errors. LÄS MER
2. Heterogeneities in samples of contaminated soil
Sammanfattning : Many factors are important during sampling of contaminated soil. One of these is the sample sizes used. By estimation of the Heterogeneity Invariant (HI) it is possible to balance the sample size to one uncertainty contribution that is attached to sampling and sample handling. This is called the Fundamental error. LÄS MER
3. Static Execution Time Analysis of Parallel Systems
Sammanfattning : The past trend of increasing processor throughput by increasing the clock frequency and the instruction level parallelism is no longer feasible due to extensive power consumption and heat dissipation. Therefore, the current trend in computer hardware design is to expose explicit parallelism to the software level. LÄS MER
4. Static Timing Analysis of Parallel Systems Using Abstract Execution
Sammanfattning : The Power Wall has stopped the past trend of increasing processor throughput by increasing the clock frequency and the instruction level parallelism. Therefore, the current trend in computer hardware design is to expose explicit parallelism to the software level. LÄS MER
5. Therapy in inflammatory bowel disease
Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis is to study treatment of inflammatory bowel disease with respect to an acute severe attack of ulcerative colitis and endoscopic balloon dilation in stricturing Crohn’s disease.A retrospective follow-up was made in 158 patients who were given intensive intravenous corticosteroid treatment due a severe, moderate, or mild attack of ulcerative colitis between 1975 and 1982.
