16. Reconfigurable Impedance Matching Networks for Radio Receivers
Sammanfattning : Mobile phones become smaller but include more advanced functions for every new generation. This paradox is possible since reduced transistor size and increased integration of digital building blocks free space for new functions. LÄS MER
17. Cyclotides : Tuning Parameters Toward Their Use in Drug Design
Sammanfattning : Cyclotides are plant proteins with a unique topology, defined as the cyclic cystine knot motif. The motif endows cyclotides with exceptional chemical and biological stability. They also exhibit a wide range of biological activities including insecticidal, cytotoxic, anti-HIV and antimicrobial effects. LÄS MER
18. Synthesis and Tuning of Multifunctional Materials at High Pressure
Sammanfattning : At the present stage, human society is developing at an unprecedented speed, facing an emergence of highly pressing challenges, e.g., information explosion, energy production problems, environmental pollution, climate problems. Functional materials with tailored properties are considered as holding a key to solving these problems. LÄS MER
19. Tuning the polylactide hydrolysis rate without introducing new migrants
Sammanfattning : The possibility to control and tune the hydrolytic degradation rate of polylactide without introducing any new degradation products was investigated by subjecting polylactide with cyclic or linear oligolactic acid additives, and a stereocomplex between the L- and D-enantiomers of polylactide to hydrolytic degradation at 37 and 60 °C for up to 39 weeks. The degradation was monitored by measuring mass loss, molar mass changes, water uptake, changes of surface structure, crystallinity and thermal properties. LÄS MER
20. Chemical Tuning of the Magnetic Interactions in Layer Structures
Sammanfattning : Thin metal films have found their use in many magnetic devices. They form pseudo two-dimensional systems, where the mechanisms for the magnetic interactions between the layers are not completely understood. LÄS MER
