16. Sputtering of Precursors for Cu2ZnSnS4 Solar Cells and Application of Cadmium Free Buffer Layers
Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis is to understand the influence of the deposition process and resulting film properties on Cu2ZnSnS4 (CZTS) thin film solar cells. Two main aspects are studied, namely formation of absorber precursors by sputtering, and alternative Cd-free buffer materials with improved band alignment. LÄS MER
17. Scaling up solar photovoltaic use : A system-oriented assessment of experiences gained in deployment
Sammanfattning : The transition towards low-carbon energy systems undeniably requires a strong scale-up in the diffusion of renewable energy technologies globally. Given its theoretical and techno-economic potential, solar photovoltaics (PV) is considered an important option. LÄS MER
18. The diagnostic potential of the He I D3 spectral line in the solar atmosphere
Sammanfattning : The research question of my PhD is in a way a simple one: what can observations of the He I D3 line teach us about the solar chromosphere? This optical spectral line at 5876 Å is generally formed in the upper chromosphere, and is sensitive to the local magnetic field. The He I D3 line is also indirectly sensitive to heating of the transition region and corona, since it is resulting from a transition that occurs between levels in the triplet system of neutral helium. 19. Formation of Pebble-Pile Planetesimals and the Interior Structure of Comets
Sammanfattning : Planets form in protoplanetary discs of gas, dust and ice around newborn stars. In the Solar System, not only planets are found as a result from the time of planet formation, but also remnant planetesimals in the form of asteroids, Kuiper belt objects and comets. Recent observations, e.g. LÄS MER
20. Numerical simulations of type III planetary migration
Sammanfattning : Planets are believed to form in primordial gas-dust discs surrounding newborn stars. An important breakthrough in our understanding of planetary formation was the discovery of extra-solar planets around sun-like stars, especially the frequent occurrence of giant planets on close orbits (hot Jupiters).
