  1. 1. Obsessive-compulsive disorder, serotonin and oxytocin : treatment response and side effects

    Författare :Mats B. Humble; Ingemar Engström; Lars von Knorring; Lars Kjellin; Lil Träskman-Bendz; Örebro universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Adverse effects; Obsessive-compulsive disorder; Orgasm; Oxytocin; Randomised controlled trial; Rating scale; Response prediction; Serotonin; Serotonin uptake inhibitors; Sexual function; Psychiatry; Psykiatri;

    Sammanfattning : Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), with a prevalence of 1-2 %, frequently leads a chronic course. Persons with OCD are often reluctant to seek help and, if they do, their OCD is often missed. This is unfortunate, since active treatment may substantially improve social function and quality of life. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Biomarker discovery and assessment for prediction of kidney response after 177Lu-octreotate therapy

    Författare :Emil Schüler; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; PRRT; somatostatin; radionuclide therapy; 177Lu-octreotate; scintigraphy; renal function; toxicity; kidney response; radiation biology; microarray; molecular biomarkers; ionizing radiation; miRNA; proteomics; transcriptional response;

    Sammanfattning : Patients suffering from neuroendocrine tumors are oftentimes presented with spread disease at the time of diagnosis. Therapy using somatostatin analogs is today the only potentially curative treatment option for these patients. LÄS MER

  3. 3. DNA Damage Response of Normal Epidermis in the Clinical Setting of Fractionated Radiotherapy : Evidence of a preserved low-dose hypersensitivity response

    Författare :Fredrik Qvarnström; Ingela Turesson; Gunilla Enblad; Mats Harms-Ringdahl; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; DNA damage response; low-dose hypersensitivity; dose response; normal tissue; epidermis; keratinocyte; fractionated radiotherapy; DNA double strand break; DSB; foci; γH2AX; 53BP1; checkpoint; p21; apoptosis; mitosis; Oncology; Onkologi; Oncology; onkologi;

    Sammanfattning : Investigations of DNA damage response (DDR) mechanisms in normal tissues have implications for both cancer prevention and treatments. The accumulating knowledge about protein function and molecular markers makes it possible to directly trace and interpret cellular DDR in a tissue context. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Myocardial electromechanical function in long QT syndrome

    Författare :Dafni Charisopoulou; Michael Y. Henein; Annika Rydberg; Anders Jonzon; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Long QT syndrome; stress-echocardiography; left ventricular filling; mechanical dispersion; diastolic myocardial function; exercise; arrhythmia; electromechanical window; speckle-tracking echocardiography; myocardial relaxation sequence.; kardiologi; Cardiology; cardiovascular disease; hjärt- och kärlforskning;

    Sammanfattning : AIM: The aim of this thesis is to assess, in LQTS and according to genotype, the myocardial electromechanical (EM) function response to exercise, its relation to symptoms and its response to b-blocker therapy. To achieve this aim, we conducted 4 studies with the following specific objectives: i. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Disaster response for recovery : survivors experiences, and the use of disaster radio to promote health after natural disasters

    Författare :Karin Hugelius; Annsofie Adolfsson; Mervyn Gifford; Per Örtenwall; Birgitta Wireklint Sundström; Örebro universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; natural disaster; disaster response; disaster health; recovery; resilience;

    Sammanfattning : Disasters occur all over the world, and affect a rising number of people. The health effects of natural disasters depend on several factors present before, during, and after a disaster event. However, there is only limited knowledge of survivors experiences, needs, and health after natural disasters. LÄS MER
