1. Particle-fluid interactions under heterogeneous reactions
Sammanfattning : Particle-fluid flows are involved in many natural processes and industrial applications; some examples are drying, solid fuel combustion, gasification, and catalytic cracking. It is vital to understand the phenomena involved in particle-fluid flows in depth for design, predictions and process improvements. LÄS MER
2. Particle-fluid interactions under heterogeneous reactions
Sammanfattning : Particle-laden flows involve in many energy and industrial processes within a wide scale range. Solid fuel combustion and gasication, drying and catalytic cracking are some of the examples. It is vital to have a better understanding of the phenomena inside the reactors involving in particle-laden flows for process improvements and design. LÄS MER
3. Eulerian Numerical Study of the Sedimentation of Fibre Suspensions
Sammanfattning : Sedimenting suspensions exist in a varity of natural phenomena and industrial applications. It is already observed in experiments that the dilute fibre suspensions experience a hydrodynamics instability under gravity at low Reynolds numbers. Initially well-mixed suspensions become inhomogeneous and anisotropic due to this instability. LÄS MER
4. Time dependent flow of biolubricant and suspended particles behavior within total hip replacement
Sammanfattning : Total hip replacement (THR) has been one of the most successful surgeries in the 21st century. Ultra-high-molecular-weight-polyethylene (UHMWPE) shows favorable mechanical and tribological properties when used as a bearing surface material in THR. However, produced UHMWPE wear particles challenge increasing the THR lifetimes. LÄS MER
5. Fast devolatilization of biomass : An experimental study using high-speed imaging, relevant for suspension firing technologies
Sammanfattning : We have performed experiments using imaging techniques in a flame-assisted, drop-tube reactor with optical access, to extract information relevant to the improvement of multi-particle devolatilization models. These models could be of interest for different suspension firing techniques, such as entrained flow biomass gasification, (EFBG) and oxyfuel combustion. LÄS MER
