  1. 6. Topsar och cellmembran : Kroppens näringsupptag i undervisning och elevtexter på mellanstadiet

    Författare :Alma Jahic Pettersson; Carl-Johan A. Rundgren; Lena Tibell; Ragnhild Löfgren; Nicklas Gericke; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Social semiotic; Metaphors; Everyday expressions; Systemic functional grammar; Organizational levels; Biology; Chemistry; Multimodality; Socialsemiotik; Metaforer; Vardagsuttryck; Systemisk funktionell grammatik; Organisationsnivåer; Biologi; Kemi; Multimodalitet;

    Sammanfattning : I avhandlingen studeras mellanstadieelevers meningsskapande kring näringsupptag. Avhandlingens artiklar baseras på två datainsamlingar. I den första studeras skriftliga svar på ett nationellt prov i biologi. I den andra studeras klassrumsundervisning i två skolor med en animation om näringsupptag som kontext. LÄS MER

  2. 7. Chemistry: content, context and choices : towards students' higher order problem solving in upper secondary school

    Författare :Karolina Broman; Eva Silfver; Dan Johnels; Judith Bennett; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; chemistry education; upper secondary students; meaningful learning; higher order thinking; problem solving; context-based learning; interest; educational choice; identity; kemididaktik; didactics of chemistry;

    Sammanfattning : Chemistry is often claimed to be difficult, irrelevant, and uninteresting to school students. Even students who enjoy doing science often have problems seeing themselves as being scientists. This thesis explores and challenges the negative perception of chemistry by investigating upper secondary students’ views on the subject. LÄS MER

  3. 8. Conceptual metaphors in learning and teaching entropy : adopting a cognitive semantic approach in science education research

    Författare :Fredrik Jeppsson; Helge Strömdahl; Tamer Amin; Roland Kjellander; David Hammer; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Science education; thermodynamics; semantics; conceptual metaphors; Naturvetenskapernas didaktik; termodynamik; entropi; semantik; begreppsliga metaforer;

    Sammanfattning : Over the last 20 years there has been an extensive amount of research on science learning conducted from a “knowledge-in-pieces” or “resources” perspective. One of the main goals of that research has been to identify and characterize available cognitive knowledge resources that can be productive components of scientific understanding. LÄS MER

  4. 9. Improving venous blood specimen collection practices : method development and evaluation of an educational intervention program

    Författare :Karin Bölenius; Christine Brulin; Kjell Grankvist; Johan Söderberg; Ewa Idvall; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Education; Experiences; Guideline adherence; Haemolysis; Intervention; Patient safety; Phlebotomy; Practical skills; Preanalytical errors; Primary healthcare; Questionnaires; Reliability and validity; Venous blood specimen collection; omvårdnadsforskning med medicinsk inriktning; Caring Sciences; Clinical Chemistry; klinisk kemi;

    Sammanfattning : Background: About 60%–80% of decisions regarding diagnosis and treatment are based on laboratory test results. Low adherence to venous blood specimen collection (VBSC) guidelines may lead to erroneous or delayed test results, causing patient harm and high healthcare costs. LÄS MER

  5. 10. MODELLING-BASED TEACHING IN CHEMISTRY IN A MULTILINGUAL CONTEXT : A tool to explore and visualise the non-spontaneous and abstract?

    Författare :Lizette Widing; Pernilla Nilsson; Pernilla Granklint Enochson; Karina Adbo; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : The thesis aims to investigate modelling-based teaching in the multilingual context. Modelling-based teaching concerns when students create, discuss, and evaluate representations to visualise concepts and processes. In this thesis, modelling-based teaching has been used in polymer chemistry at a Swedish secondary school. LÄS MER
