  1. 11. Engineering of thermometric biosensors and characterisation of redox enzymes for improved performance of biosensors/biofuel cells

    Författare :Maria Yakovleva; Biokemi och Strukturbiologi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Flow injection analysis; thermometric calorimetric biosensor; enzyme thermistor; immobilised enzyme reactor; amperometric biosensor; enzymatic biofuel cell; bioanode; pyranose dehydrogenase; cellobiose dehydrogenase; direct electron transfer; mediated electron transfer; matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization; glycosite mapping;

    Sammanfattning : The present work is mainly focused on the development of enzyme-based bioanalytical devices, which can further be applied as analytical tools for industrial, medical and environmental applications. The first part of the work deals with the practical applications of thermometric biosensors for determination of various sugars (fructose and lactose) in a real samples. LÄS MER

  2. 12. Bioprocess Monitoring and Control in Pseudomonas cepacia and recombinant Escherichia coli cultivations

    Författare :Anita Tocaj; LTH Ingenjörshögskolan vid Campus Helsingborg; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; protein L; expanded bed; flow-injection analysis; recombinant protein production; acetic acid; on-line measurements; Pseudomonas cepacia; recombinant Escherichia coli; Fed-batch cultivations; control strategies; xylanase deletion derivatives from Rhodothermus marinus; Biotechnology; Bioteknik;

    Sammanfattning : The control of cultivation conditions and its influence on growth and production have been investigated. The use of fed-batch processes have been demonstrated for several cultivation systems and so has the use of different control signals in these systems. LÄS MER

  3. 13. Improving the biocatalyst. Engineering of fungal oxidoreductases and thin-film electrodes for improvement of membraneless biofuel cells and carbohydrate biosensors

    Författare :Roberto Ortiz; Biokemi och Strukturbiologi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Cellobiose dehydrogenase; pyranose dehydrogenase; biosensor; enzymatic biofuel cell; carbon nanotubes; gold nanoparticles; direct electron transfer; flow-injection analysis; diazonium salts; self-assembled monolayers;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis presents investigations for the improvement of electrical contact and catalytical properties of two fungal redox enzymes, cellobiose dehydrogenase (CDH) and pyranose dehydrogenase (PDH), with electrodes and the use of the prepared electrodes as carbohydrate biosensors and in enzymatic biofuel cells. The performance of enzyme modified electrodes can be improved in two ways, by modifying the bioelement or by modifying the electrode. LÄS MER

  4. 14. Development of Second and Third Generation Bioelectronics

    Författare :Federico Tasca; Biokemi och Strukturbiologi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; flow injection analysis; amperometric biosensor; mediated electron transfer; direct electron transfer; tryptophan repressor-binding protein; diaphorase; pyranose oxidase; cellobiose dehydrogenase; pyranose dehydrogenase; biofuel cell; spectroelectrochemistry; single wall carbon nanotubes; bioelectronics.;

    Sammanfattning : The field of research dealing with the integration of biomolecules with electronic elements to form functional devices is called ‘‘bioelectronics’’. Bioelectronics based on mediated electron transfer (MET) between the biological element and the electrodes are designated as “second generation” while the one based on direct electron transfer (DET) is specified as “third generation”.
