  1. 31. Biogeochemistry in Subarctic birch forests : Perspectives on insect herbivory

    Författare :Jeppe Ågård Kristensen; MERGE: ModElling the Regional and Global Earth system; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Biogeochemistry; Aboveground-belowground interactions; Herbivory; Insects; Subarctic; Birch; soil microbes;

    Sammanfattning : Herbivory can influence ecosystem processes, partly through long-term changes of the plant community compositions, but also more rapidly through the herbivores’ digestive alteration of the organic matter that is cycled through the soil and back to the primary producers. In the Subarctic mountain birch (Betula pubescens ssp. LÄS MER

  2. 32. Fracture healing, functional outcome and health related quality of life in younger patients with a femoral neck fracture

    Författare :Pierre Campenfeldt; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Few prospective studies have investigated the patient-reported outcome measures (PROM) in patients less than 70 years that sustained a femoral neck fracture (FNF) treated with closed reduction and internal fixation (CRIF). The health-related quality of life (HRQoL) using the self-administered questionnaires EuroQol 5 Dimension (EQ-5D) and Short Form- 36 Health Survey (SF-36) and with a long term follow-up has not previously been examined in this group of patients. 3. 33. Velocity controlled dynamometry and gait analysis : development of methods and applications

    Författare :Lennart Gransberg; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :Dynamometry; torque; measurement error; overshoot; isokinetic; concentric; eccentric; gait analysis; three-dimensional; electrogoniometer; electromagnetic tracking;

    Sammanfattning : The isokinetic systems developed in the present study can measure torque in maximal voluntary and passive movements. The torque recordings may be combined with surface EMG recordings from pairs of antagonistic muscles involved in the movement. Healthy subjects and patients with spastic paresis have been examined. 4. 34. Surgery in Armed Conflicts : Predicting surgical treatment needs and improving resource use in resource-constrained settings

    Författare :Måns Muhrbeck; Peter Andersson; Andreas Wladis; Johan von Schreeb; Ari Leppäniemi; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Background In armed conflicts, civilian health care struggles to cope. Understanding the relationship between demographics, injury mechanism, and injury patterns to predict what surgical resources are needed is therefore vital. LÄS MER
