11. The moral enterprise in intensive care nursing
Sammanfattning : The aims of this thesis were to explore nurses' experiences of stress in the ICU (I), to analyze experiences of moral concerns in intensive care nursing from the perspective of relational ethics (II), to describe the synthesis of the concept of moral stress and to identify preconditions for moral stress (III) and to analyse and describe lived experiences of support in situations characterized by critical care situations and moral stress in intensive care (IV).The design was exploratory and descriptive. Sammanfattning : The research interests address a need for knowledge regarding the importance of 'acts of caring' for a caritative approach when performing tasks in the care of the elderly. The overall aim of the research was to deepen the understanding of ethics and describe the actions and habits that are important in the 'acts of caring' for both patients and caregivers in relation to the caritative nursing and ethics of care relevant to the caritative care theory. 13. Intensivvårdsdagbok i Sverige : betydelse och tillämpning
Sammanfattning : Aim: The overall aim of the thesis was to explore how the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) diary was experienced by family members, family members of non-survivors and nursing staff in the ICU setting, thereby contributing to the development of national clinical practice guidelines regarding the structure, content and use of the ICU diary.Methods: A qualitative design was employed for all four studies: a hermeneutic approach was adopted in studies I and II, whilst a qualitative descriptive design with the use of focus groups interviews was chosen in study III.
