  1. 11. Results in Localization for Supersymmetric Gauge Theories

    Författare :Anastasios Gorantis; Joseph A. Minahan; Kimyeong Lee; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Supersymmetric localization; Matrix models; Supersymmetric field theories; Cohomological field theories; Chiral algebras; Theoretical Physics; Teoretisk fysik;

    Sammanfattning : The strong coupling dynamics of Quantum Field Theories with gauge symmetries constitutes a profound problem in Theoretical Physics. Supersymmetric theories offer rare instances where this elusive problem is tractable and can be a valuable source of information and intuition. LÄS MER

  2. 12. Going Round in Circles : From Sigma Models to Vertex Algebras and Back

    Författare :Joel Ekstrand; Maxim Zabzine; Anton Alekseev; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Chiral de Rham complex; Conformal field theory; Poisson vertex algebra; Sigma model; String theory; Vertex algebra; Theoretical Physics; Teoretisk fysik;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis, we investigate sigma models and algebraic structures emerging from a Hamiltonian description of their dynamics, both in a classical and in a quantum setup. More specifically, we derive the phase space structures together with the Hamiltonians for the bosonic two-dimensional non-linear sigma model, and also for the N=1 and N=2 supersymmetric models. 3. 13. Simulation of turbocharged SI-engines - with focus on the turbine

    Författare :Fredrik Westin; Hans-Erik Ångström; Gordon P Blair; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Engineering design; turbocharging simulation 1D turbine accuracy SI-engine; Konstruktionsteknik; Construction engineering; Konstruktionsteknik;

    Sammanfattning : The aim is to share experience gained when simulating (and doing measurements on) the turbocharged SI-engine as well as describing the limits of current state of the technology. In addition an overview of current boosting systems is provided. LÄS MER
