6. Trehalose metabolism and stress resistance in Aspergillus niger
Sammanfattning : Food spoilage by filamentous fungi, moulds, is a global issue of great significance. Mould growth can cause food losses due to deterioration, and adverse health effects due to toxin production. Conidia, asexual spores, are the main factors of dispersal and infection in most food-relevant moulds. LÄS MER
7. Microstructure and Properties of Additively Manufactured Tool Steels for Hot Stamping
Sammanfattning : Hot work tool steels are commonly used to produce dies for hot stamping, where the steels are exposed to cyclic thermal and mechanical loads. There is a constant demand to improve the lifetime of the dies. Additive manufacturing (AM) provides new solutions for tool design. LÄS MER
8. Analysis of heat transfer and fluid flow in the resin transfer moulding process
Sammanfattning : This thesis contains an analysis of fluid flow and heat transfer problems in the resin transfer moulding (RTM) process for manufacturing of polymer based fibre composites and it consists of five separate papers. The permeability of unidirectional fabrics, that are often used in advanced composites, is considered in Paper A and a theory for the permeability dependence on the micro geometry is developed. 9. Microengineering of diamond
Sammanfattning : Performance of micromechanical systems often relies on extreme material properties. Being the strongest, stiffest and hardest of all materials, exhibiting extreme electromagnetic transparency and wear resistance, and offering the highest possible thermal conductivity and very low friction against most materials, diamond is indeed a unique material. 10. Evaluating building envelopes for energy efficient buildings : Energy- and moisture performance considering future climate change
Sammanfattning : Buildings account for a signifi cant proportion of the energy use thatgenerates greenhouse gases and consequently drives the ongoing climatechange. As the population of the world increases, the need for buildingsincreases, while the energy use needs to decrease. LÄS MER
