11. Self-Diffusion and Microstructure of Some Ionic Liquids in Bulk and in Confinement
Sammanfattning : An ionic liquid (IL) is a salt, which usually is in the liquid state at normal temperature and pressure. The properties of ILs can be adjusted for various processes and applications by choosing different combinations of ions. Similar to other salts, ILs contain only ions with positive (cations) and negative (anions) charges in equal proportions. LÄS MER
12. Imaging diffusional variance by MRI [public] : The role of tensor-valued diffusion encoding and tissue heterogeneity
Sammanfattning : Diffusion MRI provides a non-invasive probe of tissue microstructure. We recently proposed a novel method for diffusion-weighted imaging, so-called q-space trajectory encoding, that facilitates tensor-valued diffusion encoding. LÄS MER
13. Numerical Modeling of Plasticity in FCC Crystalline Materials Using Discrete Dislocation Dynamics
Sammanfattning : Plasticity in crystalline solids is controlled by the microscopic line defects known as “dislocations”. Decisive role of dislocations in crystal plasticity in addition to fundamentals of plastic deformation are presented in the current thesis work. LÄS MER
14. Raster Image Analysis of Diffusion via Single Particle Methods
Sammanfattning : Soft biomaterials are widely used in many application areas, spanning from packaging materials to pharmaceuticals. To enhance their functionalities, understanding the interplay between microstructure and mass transport properties in these materials is fundamental. LÄS MER
15. Multiscale Constitutive Modeling of Heterogeneous Engineering Materials
Sammanfattning : This work deals with different methods used to determine heterogeneous constitutive model parameters for macro-scale finite element models, based on microstructural variations, caused by the manufacturing process. These methods could be applied to decrease modeling errors associated with the material behavior, improving the predictive capabilities of structural analyses in simulation-driven industrial product development.
