21. Perioperative risk factors and outcomes
Sammanfattning : Perioperative complications is an increasing issue worldwide, as surgical volume continues to grow. Myocardial and kidney injury, and myocardial infarction (MI), are known complications in non-cardiac surgery. LÄS MER
22. Hemodynamic and cardiometabolic studies in patients with distributive circulatory dysfunctions : with special reference to the effects of the beta-1-adrenoreceptor agonist prenalterol
Sammanfattning : A total of 49 patients were studied, using invasive hemodynamic techniques with systemic arterial, pulmonary artery and right atrial pressure recordings together with thermodilution cardiac output determinations. Sixteen of the patients were also subjected to cardiometabolic studies, using measurement of coronary sinus blood flow by the continuous thermodilution technique and analyses of oxygen content and lactate concentration in the systemic and coronary circulation. 23. Bleeding in abdominal aortic aneurysm repair
Sammanfattning : Background and aims: Massive bleeding in open abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) repair is associated with worse outcome. However, few studies have investigated specific problems related to perioperative bleeding and blood transfusion in elective or emergent AAA repair with open (OR) or endovascular (EVAR) aneurysm repair. 24. Factors influencing splanchnic microcirculation in animal models of endotoxaemia
Sammanfattning : Even though severe sepsis and septic shock therapy has improved in recent years, mortality remains high (22-50%). Disturbances in splanchnic organ homeostasis and increases in gut permeability have long been presumed to contribute to systemic inflammation and multiple organ dysfunction syndrome in critical illness and septic shock. 25. Trauma - logistics and stress response
Sammanfattning : Background: Trauma is a major cause of death and disability. Adverse events, such as prolonged prehospital time, hypoxia, hypotension and/or hyperventilation have been reported to correlate to poor outcome.Adequate cortisol levels are essential for survival after major trauma.
