41. Synthesis and Photochemical Characterisation of Photoactive Compounds for Molecular Electronics
Sammanfattning : In this modern age of technology, communication is highly reliant on computing devices such as mobile phones and computers. The advent of artificial intelligence (AI) and internet of things (IoT) as well as the widespread use of user-generated contents (UGC) are demanding more computing power and large data storage. 42. Quantum chemical studies of deposition and catalytic surface reactions
Sammanfattning : Quantum chemical calculations have been used to model chemical reactions in epitaxial growth of silicon carbide by chemical vapor deposition (CVD) processes and to study heterogeneous catalytic reactions for methanol synthesis. CVD is a common method to produce high-quality materials and e.g. LÄS MER
43. Monte Carlo Simulations of the Equilibrium Properties of Semi-stiff Polymer Chains : Efficient Sampling from Compact to Extended Structures
Sammanfattning : Polymers is a class of molecules which can have many different structures due to a large number of degrees of freedom. Many biopolymers, e.g. DNA, but also synthetic macromolecules have special structural features due to their backbone stiffness. LÄS MER
44. Adsorption at the Solid-Liquid Interface: An Atomic Force Microscopy Study
Sammanfattning : The aim of the work presented in this thesis was to investigate nature of adsorption of amphiphiles to the solid–liquid interface. The surface aggregate structures of the zwitterionic surfactant dodecyldimethylammoniopropanesulfonate, (DDAPS) and a series of nonionic polyoxyethlylene glycol alkyl ethers (C10E5, C12E5, C12E8, C10E6, C14E6 and C16E6) have been determined by Atomic Force Microscopy on solids of different hydrophobicity. 45. Estimating molecular conformations by solid-state NMR spectroscopy
Sammanfattning : Our understanding of structure-function relationships in biological systems demands new and more sophisticated methods for examining molecular structure. This thesis presents an effort of methodology development for molecular structure determination by solid-state NMR spectroscopy and applications to biological systems. LÄS MER
