16. Lake sediment as environmental archive : natural and anthropogenic influence on the chronology of trace elements
Sammanfattning : The focus of this thesis is the historical pollution of some seldom-monitored trace elements (SMTEs; Ag, Be, Ga, In, Sb and Tl) that have been involuntarily released for several thousands of years but whose usage have increased during the industrial era. Sediment cores from four rural lakes in a south to north transect in central Sweden, and two urban lakes have been used as environmental archives for chronological studies. LÄS MER
17. Element 115
Sammanfattning : This thesis is devoted to detailed studies of element 115 decay chains using the highly efficient multi-coincidence alpha, electron, gamma and X-ray detector setup TASISpec at the gas-filled separator TASCA at GSI, Darmstadt, Germany. In a three-week long experiment thirty new decay chains assumed to stem from element 115 isotopes were observed together with the very first detections of gamma rays and potential X-rays from these nuclei. 18. Food Quality for Zooplankton in Humic Lakes
Sammanfattning : Food quality affects growth, reproduction and community structure of zooplankton, and has implications for nutrient cycling and the transfer of energy and matter in aquatic food chains. While the issue of food quality in clear water lakes has received great recent attention, studies on food quality for zooplankton in humic lakes are scarce. LÄS MER
19. Demand-Supply Chain Management
Sammanfattning : Purpose: This research aims to enhance the current understanding and knowledge of the demand-supply chain management (DSCM) concept by determining its elements, benefits, and requirements, as well as by analyzing key elements of the concept. Methodology: This research has utilized the case study strategy and the survey strategy, however, the case study strategy dominates. LÄS MER
20. Specifying Safety-Critical Heterogeneous Systems Using Contracts Theory
Sammanfattning : Requirements engineering (RE) is a well-established practice that is also emphasized in safety standards such as IEC 61508 and ISO 26262. Safety standards advocate a particularly stringent RE where requirements must be structured in an hierarchical manner in accordance with the system architecture; at each level, requirements must be allocated to heterogeneous (SW, HW, mechanical, electrical, etc. LÄS MER
