1. Smart Homes and User Values : Long-term evaluation of IT-services in Residential and Single Family Dwellings
Sammanfattning : Do residents find value in smart home functions? How should these functions be designed to offer user benefit? These were the governing questions of this study that involved nearly 200 families in three different housing projects during five years of occupancy. The housing units were equipped with advanced smart homes solutions, electronic and digital devices to control them, and a set of functions to increase comfort, safety and security in the homes. 2. Systematisk arbetsvärdering : ett lönesättningsinstrument i närbild
Sammanfattning : The subject of the thesis is systematic job evaluation for purposes of local wage determination for blue-collar jobs within the Swedish industry. The method is examined from a general wage-determination as well as from a gender equality perspective. The thesis is based on e.g. LÄS MER
3. Model Based Coding : Initialization, Parameter Extraction and Evaluation
Sammanfattning : This thesis covers topics relevant to model-based coding. Model-based coding is a promising very low bit rate video coding technique. The idea behind this technique is to parameterize a talking head and to extract and transmit the parameters describing facial movements. At the receiver, the parameters are used to reconstruct the talking head. LÄS MER
4. Model-based coding : extraction, coding, and evaluation of face model parameters
Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with model-based coding of human faces for low bitrate communication. The basicidea of model-based coding is that the appearance and motion of a human face are analysed. By thisanalysis, compact parameters allowing realistic visualization of a synthetic face are extracted. LÄS MER
5. Improved Bridge Evaluation
Sammanfattning : Accurate structural models are required for optimal management of existing bridges and economical new ones. However, unavoidable modelling uncertainties and difficulty in modelling the non-linear response of concrete bridges can lead to structural models which do not fulfil this requirement. LÄS MER
