11. Emissions from Fires Consequences for Human Safety and the Environment
Sammanfattning : Accidental fires represent a risk for people from the heat and fire effluents produced. It is clear from fire statistics that it is, in fact, the toxic gases that kill and injure many fire victims. Further, there are a number of compounds that are readily produced in fires, which have important sublethal effects on humans. LÄS MER
12. Computational strategies in flame-spread modelling involving wooden surfaces
Sammanfattning : Various approaches to flame-spread and fire-growth modelling are discussed and are evaluated using experimental results from different tests. Use of Computational Fluid Dynamics, CFD, in fire modelling is discussed and the performance of different CFD codes in wall flow modelling is analysed. LÄS MER
13. Flamelet modelling of soot formation in diffusion flames
Sammanfattning : In this work the steady and unsteady flamelet models have been applied to soot formation in laminar and turbulent diffusion flames. The aim was to study how different model parameters affect soot formation in diffusion flames. It was shown that certain assumptions are more crucial in laminar diffusion flames than in turbulent ones. LÄS MER
14. Designing preparedness – Emergency preparedness in a community context
Sammanfattning : There has been an increased focus in society on preparedness for emergency response in recent years. Today there is legislation that requires all Swedish authorities at the local, regional and national levels to prepare for emergency management and response. Since the task is rather new, most authorities are just beginning to address it. LÄS MER
15. Preparing for Preparedness - Shaping Crisis Planning Processes in Local Authorities
Sammanfattning : In the developed countries the public expect society to be prepared for, and step in, if something out of the ordinary happens. This public pressure appears to have increased the demand for crisis preparedness planning. LÄS MER
