  1. 6. Clinical and laboratory studies on propofol

    Författare :Anders Gadegaard Jensen; Torsten Lindahl; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Atelectasis; bowel function; rat neurons; cytoskeleton; cytosolic calcium; haemodynamic stability; human glial cells; leucocytes; propofol; recovery assessment; MEDICINE; MEDICIN;

    Sammanfattning : Patients undergoing major abdominal surgery were randomly given total intravenous anaesthesia based on propofol and fentanyl, anaesthesia based on propofol, fentanyl and nitrous oxide or anaesthesia based on isoflurane and fentanyl. Postoperative atelectasis demonstrated by computed tomography of the chest was found to a similar extent and a similar decrease in arterial oxygen pressure was seen in the groups. LÄS MER

  2. 7. Neurogenic bladder and bowel dysfunction : Clinical aspects in children with spinal dysraphism

    Sammanfattning : Rectal cancer is a common malignancy treated with surgical resection and curative intent in the majority of cases. One treatment option is low anterior resection (LAR) with preserved bowel continuity, often involving the formation of a temporary defunctioning stoma (DS). LÄS MER

  5. 10. Irritable bowel syndrome - a disorder of gut-brain interaction

    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Irritable Bowel Syndrome; gastrointestinal symptom severity; anxiety; depression; neurophysiological aberrations; psychological alterations; central sensitization;

    Sammanfattning : Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a common and multifactorial functional gastrointestinal (GI) disorder characterized by altered gut-brain communication. Due to the complexity of gut-brain interactions, the aim of this thesis was to enhance the understanding of associations between GI symptom severity and measures from multiple levels along the gut-brain axis in IBS patients.
