21. Towards genomic-based breeding in Norway spruce
Sammanfattning : Norway spruce is one of the most economically and ecologically important forest tree species in Europe. The central obstacle to Norway spruce breeding is the length of the breeding cycle, which takes 20 years or more to be completed. LÄS MER
22. Carbon metabolism in non-conventional yeasts: biodiversity, origins of aerobic fermentation and industrial applications
Sammanfattning : Abstract: For millennia, the “yeast” Saccharomyces cerevisiae remains by far the most extensively studied and exploited yeast in food and industrial applications. A number of researches and developments have been done since the establishment of the biochemical function of yeast by Louis Pasteur in 1860, however modern lifestyles often connected to food related health trends demand new and innovative food products. 23. Influence of grinding operations on surface integrity and chloride induced stress corrosion cracking of stainless steels
Sammanfattning : Stainless steels were developed in the early 20th century and are used where both the mechanical properties of steels and corrosion resistance are required. There is continuous research to allow stainless steel components to be produced in a more economical way and be used in more harsh environments. LÄS MER
24. Surface integrity and corrosion behavior of stainless steels after grinding operations
Sammanfattning : Stainless steels are widely used in applications where both the mechanical properties of steels and high corrosion resistance are required. There is continuous research to enable stainless steel components to be produced in a more economical way and be used in more harsh environments. LÄS MER
25. Topoisomerase II and drug resistance in leukemic cells
Sammanfattning : Mechanisms for resistance to chemotherapy include among other, elevated p-glycoprotein (p-gp) level and/or altered topoisomerase II level (topo II). The present study focused on topo 11 expression, and the enzyme related in vitro drug sensitivities in human myeloid leukemic K562 cell line and isolated peripheral mononuclear cells from patients with acute myelogenous leukemia (AML), and with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL).
