  1. 1. Color Centers in Semiconductors for Quantum Applications : A High-Throughput Search of Point Defects in SiC

    Författare :Joel Davidsson; Igor A. Abrikosov; Rickard Armiento; Viktor Ivády; Giulia Galli; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; point defects; color centers; high-throughput; photoluminescence; zero phonon line; SiC;

    Sammanfattning : Point defects in semiconductors have been and will continue to be relevant for applications. Shallow defects realize transistors, which power the modern age of information, and in the not-too-distant future, deep-level defects could provide the foundation for a revolution in quantum information processing. 2. 2. Electronic Structure of Transition Metal Complexes in Silicon

    Författare :Per Tidlund; Fasta tillståndets fysik; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; uniaxial stress; FTIR; Zeeman spectroscopy; deep levels; phonon-assisted Fano resonances; Physics; Fysik; Au; Fysicumarkivet A:1998:Tidlund; PtLi; AuLi; Pt; Transition Metals; Silicon;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis consists of experimental studies of the electronic of electronic structure of the transition metals Au and Pt, and the transition metal complexes, FeIn, PtLi, and AuLi in silicon. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, photoconductivity, uniaxial stress- and Zeeman spectroscopy are employed. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Towards single Ce ion detection in a bulk crystal for the development of a single-ion qubit readout scheme

    Författare :Ying Yan; Atomfysik; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Fysicumarkivet A:2013:Yan; Ultra-violet laser spectroscopy; Single ion detection; Rare-earth-ion-doped crystals; Quantum computing; Laser stabilisation;

    Sammanfattning : The work presented in this thesis was concerned with investigating the relevant spectroscopic properties of Ce ions randomly doped in an Y2SiO5 crystal at low temperatures (around 4 K), in order to develop a technique and an experimental set-up to detect the fluorescence photons emitted by a single Ce ion. The aim of the work was to determine whether a single Ce ion (referred to as the readout ion) can be used as a local probe to sense the quantum state of a neighbouring single-ion qubit via a state-selective interaction between the readout and qubit ion.
