16. 3D X-ray microscopy: image formation, tomography and instrumentation
Sammanfattning : Tomography in soft X-ray microscopy is an emerging technique for obtaining quantitative 3D structural information about cells. One of its strengths, compared with other techniques, is that it can image intact cells in their near-native state at a few 10 nm’s resolution, without staining. LÄS MER
17. Compact Soft X-Ray Microscopy: Image Processing and Instrumentation
Sammanfattning : Soft x-ray microscopy is a powerful technique for natural-contrast, high-resolution imaging of organic materials. This Thesis describes new instrumentational and new image-processing methods to improve the image quality of the compact x-ray microscope at the Biomedical & X-Ray Physics division at KTH. LÄS MER
18. Structural Studies Of Materials Using Time-Resolved X-ray Diffraction
Sammanfattning : This work consisted of the application of X-ray diffraction methods to the study of ultrafast phenomena in various materials. Since the X-ray pulses generated from the bending magnet at the MAX II ring, where most of the experimental work was conducted, have a duration of the order of 300 ps, they can not be used directly as probe pulses in experiments where higher temporal resolution is required. 19. Multiscale X-ray Characterisation of Cellulose-based Solid Dispersions
Sammanfattning : Cellulose-based solid dispersions are a promising formulation strategy for providing controlled drug release and dissolution enhancement of poorly soluble drugs. These dispersions can from structures on multiple length scales which can have both positive and negative effects on the functional properties of the formulation. LÄS MER
20. A Structural Viewpoint of Magnetism in Fe and Co Based Superlattices
Sammanfattning : In order to understand the properties of thin film devices, knowledge of the material's structure is essential. The work presented here combines magnetic and structural characterization of the systems studied to gain a deeper physical understanding. LÄS MER
