2. Studies of X-Ray Optics And Polarimetry For Synchrotron Radiation
Sammanfattning : Synchrotron radiation sources have greatly contributed to the progress in many fields of science. The development of the storage ring technologies have made possible to obtain very low emittance electron beams, which together with the use of undulators allow to guide a very high photon flux into a very small beam size required by the experiments. 3. Fingerprints of light-induced molecular transients : from quantum chemical models of ultrafast x-ray spectroscopy
Sammanfattning : Absorption of sunlight generates renewable electricity and powers the growth of plants, but also causes severe damage both to synthetic materials and biological tissue. The wildly varying outcomes of these light-induced processes are ultimately determined by much slighter differences in their underlying reaction pathways, induced by the transient properties of short-lived and miniscule molecules; a powerful approach to their detection and characterization is offered by ultrafast x-ray spectroscopy, with identification of spectral fingerprints and further guidance from quantum chemical models. 4. X-ray Fluorescence Spectrometry for Environmental Applications
Sammanfattning : Heavy metal contamination in environmental applications is particularly important because of its potential impact on associated ecosystems and human health. At present, monitoring of heavy metals is usually done by taking and preparing samples for off-line laboratory measurements. LÄS MER
5. X-ray microcomputed tomography (µCT) as a potential tool in particle-based geometallurgy
Sammanfattning : In recent years, automated mineralogy has become an essential tool in geometallurgy. Automated mineralogical tools allows the acquisition of mineralogical, textural, and liberation information of ore samples. Such information is essential in the context of geometallurgy where it is needed for estimating the process response of the ores. LÄS MER
