1. X-ray spectroscopy on diatomic and cationic molecules
Sammanfattning : X-ray spectroscopy have been used to study the electronic structure of diatomic and cationic molecules. X-ray absorption spectra of the molecular cations N2+, O2+, and CO+ have been measured. LÄS MER
2. Spontaneous and stimulated X-ray Raman scattering
Sammanfattning : The present thesis is devoted to theoretical studies of resonant X-ray scattering and propagation of strong X-ray pulses. In the first part of the thesis the nuclear dynamics of different molecules is studied using resonant X-ray Raman and resonant Auger scattering techniques. LÄS MER
3. Dynamics of multiphoton processes in nonlinear optics and x-ray spectroscopy
Sammanfattning : New generations of ultrashort and intense laser pulses as well ashigh power synchrotron radiation sources and x-ray free electronlasers have promoted fast developments in nonlinear optics andx-ray spectroscopy. The new experimental achievements and the appearance of varieties of novelnonlinear phenomena call for further development of theories. 4. Non-linear Spectroscopy of Conical Intersections with XUV and X-ray Photons
Sammanfattning : Conical intersections (CIs) appear in a molecule due to the breakdown of the Born-Oppenheimer approximation when the energy difference between two or more electronic states decreases. CIs are known to play a crucial role in processes such as photosynthesis and vision in the human eye, and therefore it is important to probe the existence of such entities in molecules. LÄS MER
5. Multimode resonant X-ray scattering of free molecules
Sammanfattning : This thesis is focused on the role that nuclear dynamics plays in the formation of X-ray absorption (XAS) and resonant inelastic X-ray scattering (RIXS) spectra of multimode free molecules. A combined approach based on ab initio electronic structure methods and quantum nuclear wave packet dynamics is applied to two systems -- water and methanol in the gas phase. LÄS MER
