  1. 16. Fate of Cu, Cr, As and some other trace elements during combustion of recovered waste fuels

    Författare :Karin Lundholm; Anders Nordin; Britt-Marie Steenari; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; combustion; chemical equilibrium model calculations; trace elements; impregnated wood; waste; thermodynamic data; Cu; Cr; As; Other chemistry; Övrig kemi;

    Sammanfattning : The increased use of biomass and recovered waste fuels in favor of fossil fuels for heat and power production is an important step towards a sustainable future. Combustion of waste fuels also offers several advantages over traditional landfilling, such as substantial volume reduction, detoxification of pathological wastes, and reduction of toxic leaches and greenhouse gas (methane) formation from landfills. 2. 17. Impact of residential wood combustion on urban air quality

    Författare :Patricia Krecl; Christer Johansson; Johan Ström; Tami Bond; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; residential wood combustion; air quality; aerosols; black carbon; polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons; particulate matter; particle size distributions; source apportionment; positive matrix factorization; compound-specific radiocarbon analysis; Earth sciences; Geovetenskap; Applied Environmental Science; tillämpad miljövetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : Wood combustion is mainly used in cold regions as a primary or supplemental space heating source in residential areas. In several industrialized countries, there is a renewed interest in residential wood combustion (RWC) as an alternative to fossil fuel and nuclear power consumption. LÄS MER

  3. 18. Drying and Pyrolysis of Logs of Wood

    Författare :Jenny Larfeldt; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; structural changes; heat transfer properties; pyrolysis; drying; single particle; wood;

    Sammanfattning : This work concerns log firing in small-scale boilers for house heating, which in Sweden meets a heat demand of 12 TWh a year. In boilers used for domestic central heating in the sizes of 10 to 30 kW the predominant combustion technique is grate firing. LÄS MER

  4. 19. Application of Laser Techniques for Combustion Studies

    Författare :Marcus Aldén; Fysiska institutionen; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Keywords: Laser-induced fluorescence; Raman Spectroscopy; Coherent anti-Stokes Raman Scattering CARS ; flames; laserspectroscopy; dye laser; lidar; remote sensing; combustion; air pollution; radicals; optical multichannel analyzer.; Fysicumarkivet A:1983:Aldén;

    Sammanfattning : The aim for this work has been to increase the applicability of laser spectroscopy techniques for studies of combustion processes, both what regards in-flame experiments, exhaust-gas analysis and remote sensing of the atmosphere. Raman spectroscopy has been used for analysis of exhaust gases from flames, model fires of wood and for inflame measurements. LÄS MER

  5. 20. Particle emissions from wood pellet combustion

    Författare :Henrik Wiinikka; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Energiteknik; Energy Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Combustion of solid biomass under fixed bed conditions is a common technique to generate heat and power in both small and large scale grate furnaces (domestic boilers, stoves, district heating plants). Unfortunately, combustion of biomass will generate particle emissions containing both large fly ash particles and fine particles that consist of fly ash and soot. LÄS MER
