  1. 1. Improving Low-Power Wireless Protocols with Timing-Accurate Simulation

    Detta är en avhandling från Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Författare :Fredrik Österlind; Uppsala universitet.; Uppsala universitet.; SICS.; [2011]
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Datavetenskap med inriktning mot datorkommunikation; Computer Science with specialization in Computer Communication; Low-Power Wireless Protocols; Wireless Sensor Networks; Contiki; Cooja; Simulation;

    Sammanfattning : Low-power wireless technology enables numerous applications in areas from environmental monitoring and smart cities, to healthcare and recycling. But resource-constraints and the distributed nature of applications make low-power wireless networks difficult to develop and understand, resulting in increased development time, poor performance, software bugs, or even network failures. 2. 2. A Novel Bone Conduction Implant System

    Detta är en avhandling från Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Författare :Hamidreza Taghavi; [2012]
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; sound radiation; amplitude modulation; low-power systems.; bone conduction implant; feedback; bone anchored hearing aid; RF power amplifier; gain headroom; implantable transducer; wireless power and data transmission; RF power and data link;

    Sammanfattning : Bone conduction is the process by which an acoustic signal vibrates the skull bones to stimulate the cochlea. Patients with pure conductive hearing loss, mixed hearing loss, and single sided deafness are sometimes poorly rehabilitated by conventional air conduction hearing aids due to for example the functionality losses in the middle ear. 3. 3. Signal Modeling and Data Reduction for Wireless Brain-Machine Interfaces

    Detta är en avhandling från Lund University, Dept. of Electrical and Information Technology

    Författare :Palmi Thor Thorbergsson; Lund University.; Lunds universitet.; Lund University.; Lunds universitet.; [2012]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Extracellular neural recordings; wireless brain-machine interfaces; signal modeling; data reduction; compression;

    Sammanfattning : Brain-machine interfaces (BMIs) provide a uni- or bidirectional communication link between the central nervous system and the outside world. This link facilitates the studying of neuronal mechanisms underlying behavior as well as the treatment of neurological disease. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Low-delay sensing and transmission

    Detta är en avhandling från Stockholm : KTH Royal Institute of Technology

    Författare :Johannes Kron; KTH.; KTH.; [2011]
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Cooperative communication; wireless sensor networks; low-delay transmission; joint source-channel coding; distributed source coding; estimation; quantization; TECHNOLOGY Information technology Telecommunication; TEKNIKVETENSKAP Informationsteknik Telekommunikation;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis studies cooperative sensing and transmission in the context ofwireless sensor networks (WSNs). We especially focus on two means of cooperative sensing and transmission, namely, distributed source coding and relaying. LÄS MER
