  1. 1. Nutrition in infancy - Clinical studies on dietary intake, metabolism and growth

    Detta är en avhandling från Department of Paediatrics, Lund University

    Författare :Pia Karlsland Åkeson; Lund University.; Lunds universitet.; [1999]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; urea; triglycerides; protein intake; nutrition; Mediterranean; infant; growth; formula; fat intake; energy intake; diet; C-peptide; cholesterol; breast milk; bioavailability; amino acids; apolipoproteins; weaning; weaning foods; Pediatrics; Pediatri;

    Sammanfattning : Nutrition in infancy - Clinical studies on dietary intake, metabolism and growth Our aims were to try to determine an appropriate formula protein concentration to be used during the second half of infancy and to evaluate the effects on plasma lipids when breast milk was exchanged for formula and/or weaning foods. Both aspects were studied with special regard to the influence of traditional weaning foods. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Feeding Lactobacillus paracasei ssp. paracasei strain F19 to infants during weaning effects on adaptive immunity and gut microbial function

    Detta är en avhandling från Umeå : Umeå universitet

    Författare :Christina West; Umeå universitet.; [2008]

    Sammanfattning : Introduction: Gut microbial composition has been associated with immune-mediated diseases. Breastfeeding yields a microbiota rich in bifidobacteria and promotes colonization by lactobacilli. Bifidobacteria and lactobacilli are considered health-promoting and are used as probiotics, i.e. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Weaned Upon A Time Studies of the Infant Diet in Prehistory

    Detta är en avhandling från Department of Archaeology and Classical Studies, Stockholm University

    Författare :Rachel Howcroft; Stockholms universitet.; [2013]

    Sammanfattning : This thesis is concerned with how prehistoric infants were fed in different physical and cultural environments, and in particular what impact the economic, social, and epidemiological changes associated with the development of agriculture had on infant feeding practices. In order to examine these effects, stable isotope ratio analysis has been used to assess the duration of breastfeeding and weaning in a variety of prehistoric contexts. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Induced Growth and Precocious Maturation of the Digestive System in Suckling Rats and Pigs after Exposure to Red Kidney Bean Lectin

    Detta är en avhandling från Sveriges Lantbruksuniversitet

    Författare :Ann Linderoth; Lund University.; Lunds universitet.; [2006]

    Sammanfattning : The timing of the postnatal development of the gastrointestinal (GI) tract in mammals is influenced by dietary and hormonal factors. It was hypothesized that accelerated GI cell turnover during maturation would result in a precoucios conversion to more mature digestive functions. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Regulation of the exocrine pancreas in growing pigs, with special emphasis on entero-pancreatic reflexes

    Detta är en avhandling från Lena Evilevitch, Helgonavägen 3 B, 223 62 Lund, Sweden

    Sammanfattning : The regulation of the exocrine pancreas has been under thorough investigation for many decades. In rats, cholecystokinin (CCK) is considered to be the major gut hormone stimulating the pancreas to releasing the digestive enzymes. LÄS MER
