16. Filtering and Wavelet Regression Methods with Application to Exercise ECG
Sammanfattning : The analysis of the recorded electrical activity of the heart during an exercise test is a valuable method for investigating a patient's circulatory and respiratory system. But the disturbances that occurr during a test often make it difficult to interpret the signal in order to detect changes evoked by the increased workload and related to for instance coronary artery diseases. 17. Multivariate Measurements and Chemical Imaging of Organic Compounds
Sammanfattning : Chemical imaging is an emerging analytical technique, based on the interplay between, most often, spectroscopic measurements and advanced evaluation methodology. With this we can study the distribution of chemical compounds in different compartments, such as individual cells and pharmaceutical tablets. LÄS MER
18. Adaptive image compression with wavelet packets and empirical mode decomposition
Sammanfattning : This thesis addresses the problem of using wavelet packets and empirical mode decomposition (EMD) for image compression. The wavelet packet basis selection algorithm is studied through an extensive experimental survey of the generated decomposition trees. LÄS MER
19. Electron Tunneling and Field-Effect Devices in mm-Wave Circuits
Sammanfattning : Short high-frequency electromagnetic pulses, also referred to as wavelets, are considered for use in various short-range impulse based ultra-wideband applications, such as communication, imaging, radar, spectroscopy, and localization. This thesis investigates field-effect and tunneling based semiconductor devices and their operation in millimeter-wave (mm-wave) impulse transceivers. LÄS MER
20. 3D Time-lapse Analysis of Seismic Reflection Data to Characterize the Reservoir at the Ketzin CO2 Storage Pilot Site
Sammanfattning : 3D time-lapse seismics, also known as 4D seismics, have great potential for monitoring the migration of CO2 at underground storage sites. This thesis focuses on time-lapse analysis of 3D seismic reflection data acquired at the Ketzin CO2 geological storage site in order to improve understanding of the reservoir and how CO2 migrates within it.
