16. Theoretical and numerical studies of sound propagation in low-Mach-number duct flows
Sammanfattning : When sound waves propagate in a duct in the presence of turbulent flow, turbulent mixing can cause attenuation of the sound waves extra to that caused by the viscothermal effects. Experiments show that compared to the viscothermal effects, this turbulent absorption becomes the dominant contribution to the sound attenuation at sufficiently low frequencies. LÄS MER
17. Waveguide Finite Elements Applied on a Car Tyre
Sammanfattning : Structures acting as waveguides are quite common withexamples being, construction beams, fluid filled pipes, railsand extruded aluminium profiles. Curved structures like cartyres and pipe-bends may also be considered as waveguides. Wavesolutions in such structures may be found by a method calledthe Waveguide Finite Element Method or WFEM. 18. Millimeter-wave Communication and Radar Sensing — Opportunities, Challenges, and Solutions
Sammanfattning : With the development of communication and radar sensing technology, people are able to seek for a more convenient life and better experiences. The fifth generation (5G) mobile network provides high speed communication and internet services with a data rate up to several gigabit per second (Gbps). LÄS MER
19. Offshore Marine Substation for Grid-Connection of Wave Power Farms : An Experimental Approach
Sammanfattning : Wave power is a renewable energy source with great potential, which is why there are more than a hundred ongoing wave power projects around the world. At the Division of Electricity, Uppsala University, a point-absorber type wave energy converter (WEC) has been proposed and developed. LÄS MER
20. Transmission of waves through elastic and viscoelastic junctions
Sammanfattning : Transmission of extensional waves through elastic and viscoelastic junctions between elastic and collinear bars have been studied theoretically and experimentally. The models used can be interpreted also for other types of waves (e.g. dilatational waves, shear waves, electromagnetic waves) and systems. LÄS MER
