  1. 1. Mixed fuels composed of household waste and waste wood : Characterization, combustion behaviour and potential emissions

    Författare :Mar Edo Giménez; Stina Jansson; Jonas Dahl; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; MSW; RDF; persistent organic pollutants; PCDD; PCDF; solid waste pre-treatment; torrefaction; food waste; contaminated wood;

    Sammanfattning :    Incineration with energy recovery is the main disposal strategy for waste that cannot be reused or recycled, and a well-established source of energy in Europe, especially in Sweden where 2.2 Mtonnes of waste including domestic and imported municipal solid waste (MSW) and waste wood (WW) were combusted during 2015.     Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Co-combustion; animal waste; peat; waste wood; forest residues; industrial sludge; limestone; CFB boiler; ash transformation; corrosion; erosion; ash and deposit characteristics; deposit buildup; boiler failures; availability; sulfation; boiler design; boiler conversion; waste derived fuels; large scale; Samförbränning; animaliskt avfall; torv; returträ; skogsbränsle; reningsslam; askomvandling; korrotion; erosion; ask- och beläggnings-karaktäristik; beläggningstillväxt; tillgänglighet; sulfatisering; panndesign; pannkonvertering; avfallsderiverade bränslen; storskalig;

    Sammanfattning : The direct variable costs for heat and electricity production based on solid biomass fuel combustion is approximately 3-5 times lower than the costs in a fossil fuel-oil based boiler in Sweden. In addition waste derived biomass fuels are typically much cheaper than biomass not classified as waste. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Systems Aspects of Increased Swedish Waste Incineration

    Författare :Jenny Sahlin; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; biological treatment; incineration tax; waste management; waste import; value of households’ time.; waste incineration; district heating; MSW; landfilling ban; recycling;

    Sammanfattning : Abstract Recent bans on landfilling of combustible and organic waste in Sweden have resulted in an increase in alternative waste treatment, especially waste incineration with energy recovery. This thesis elucidates how the current increase in Swedish waste incineration affects and is affected by the two systems to which it belongs: the waste management and the energy systems. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Biogas from slaughterhouse waste : Mixtures interactions in co-digestion

    Författare :Jhosané Pagés Diaz; Högskolan i Borås; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Slaughterhouse waste; Agro-Waste; Co-digestion; Synergistic effects; Methanogenic community structure; Resource Recovery; Resursåtervinning;

    Sammanfattning : Global environmental concerns connected to the use of fossil fuels have forced the development ofalternative sustainable energy technologies. The application of anaerobic digestion, from waste streams thatcurrently have no use, can be utilized for bioenergy production. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : The effects of greenhouse gas net emissions on global warming, stricter legislation on waste handling, and the pursuit of ever cheaper heat- and power production are all important factors driving the introduction of complex fuels in incineration plants. However - without fundamental knowledge regarding ash transformation, corrosion control, and materials selection – this introduction of potentially economically and environmentally beneficial fuels, might instead cause economic loss and environmentally adverse effects.
