  1. 6. Contouring & planning variability in stereotactic radiosurgery : How to assess and address the weakest link in stereotactic radiosurgery?

    Författare :Helena Sandström; Iuliana Toma-Dasu; David Schlesinger; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; stereotactic radiosurgery; contouring variability; robust treatment planning; Medical Radiation Physics; medicinsk strålningsfysik;

    Sammanfattning : The use of stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) employing one or a few fractions of high doses of radiation has continuously increased due to the technical development in dose delivery and morphological and functional imaging. As the target volume in SRS is usually defined without margins, the treatment success critically depends on accurate definition and contouring of the target volume and organs at risk (OARs) which are commonly situated in the proximity of the target making their precise delineation particularly important in order to limit possible normal tissue complications. 2. 7. The matter of white and gray matter in cognitive impairment

    Författare :Soheil Damangir; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Cognitive impairment spans from minor subjective cognitive impairment to disabling dementia. Many biomarkers have been developed to monitor different aspects of cognitive impairment. Magnetic resonance imaging is the most used neuroimaging biomarker in research and can measure gray matter (GM) and white matter (WM) changes. LÄS MER

  3. 8. Contouring variability in radiosurgery - dosimetric and radiobiological implications

    Författare :Helena Sandström; Iuliana Toma-Dasu; Mike Partridge; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Medical Radiation Physics; medicinsk strålningsfysik;

    Sammanfattning : The use of Stereotactic Radiation Therapy (SRT) employing one large fraction of radiation, as in stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS), or few fractions of high doses, has continuously increased due to the technical development and the progress in dose delivery complemented by the positive clinical experience. The success of stereotactic radiation therapy depends on many clinical, dosimetric and radiobiological factors. LÄS MER

  4. 9. Cardiovascular fluid dynamics : methods for flow and pressure field analysis from magnetic resonance imaging

    Författare :Tino Ebbers; Håkan Arheden; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICINE; MEDICIN;

    Sammanfattning : Cardiovascular blood flow is highly complex and incompletely understood. Blood flow patterns are expected to influence the opening and closing of normal and prosthetic heart valves, the efficiency of cardiac filling and ejection, and the resistance to thrombus formation within the heart. 5. 10. Validation and clinical implementation of an MRI-only prostate cancer radiotherapy workflow

    Författare :Emilia Persson; Malmö Medicinsk strålningsfysik; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : The radiotherapy workflow for prostate cancer is associated with systematic uncertainty stemming from the registration between the computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance (MR) images. A radiotherapy workflow based solely on MR imaging (MRI), called an MRI-only workflow, has been suggested as a means of eliminating this uncer¬tainty. LÄS MER
