  1. 21. Oral Motor Function, Voice, Speech and Language in Children with Tonsillar Hypertrophy in Relation to Surgical Outcome

    Författare :Inger Lundeborg Hammarström; Anita McAllister; Elisabeth Hultcrantz; Anneli Yliherva; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Otorhinolaryngology; Otorhinolaryngologi;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis was two-fold: first, to evaluate four different functional aspects of the speech and language spectrum; oral-motor function, voice, /s/-articulation and phonology in preschool children with tonsillar hypertrophy before and after surgical treatment. The second aim was to investigate weather the outcome of surgery was equal for two surgical techniques; tonsillectomy or tonsillotomy combined with adenoidectomy when necessary. LÄS MER

  2. 22. Collision Threshold Pressure : A novel measure of voice function Effects of vocal warm-up, vocal loading and resonance tube phonation in water

    Författare :Laura Enflo; Anita McAllister; Johan Sundberg; Marc de Bodt; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : The phonation threshold pressure (PTP), i.e., the smallest amount of subglottal pressure needed to initiate and sustain vocal fold oscillation, is frequently difficult to measure due to the difficulty for some subjects to produce extremely soft phonation. In addition, PTP values are often quite scattered. LÄS MER

  3. 23. Multimodal Human-Robot Collaboration in Assembly

    Författare :Sichao Liu; Lihui Wang; Gunnar Bolmsjö; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Robotics; Assembly; Human-robot collaboration; Multimodal control; Function block; Production Engineering; Industriell produktion;

    Sammanfattning : Human-robot collaboration (HRC) envisioned for factories of the future would require close physical collaboration between humans and robots in safe and shared working environments with enhanced efficiency and flexibility. The PhD study aims for multimodal human-robot collaboration in assembly. LÄS MER

  4. 24. The Multiple Functions of the Reflexive Prefix in Hehe, Sukuma, Nilamba, and Nyaturu

    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; reflexive; reciprocal; middle voice; grammaticalization; North Eastern Bantu;

    Sammanfattning : This dissertation describes and analyses the multiple functions of the reflexive prefix in four North Eastern Bantu languages, Hehe, Sukuma, Nilamba, and Nyaturu, all spoken in Tanzania. Apart from encoding the reflexive meaning, the functions of the reflexive prefix that are dealt with in this study are reciprocal events and middle events. LÄS MER

    Författare :Ellika Schalling; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Spinocerebellar ataxias (SCA) constitute a group of genetically defined hereditary, degenerative, progressive diseases affecting the cerebellum and its connections. Few previous investigations have focused on how SCA affects different aspects of communication. LÄS MER
