21. Ulcerative colitis : Imaging of inflammation
Sammanfattning : Ulcerative colitis is a chronic inflannnatory disorder of unknown origin engaging the large bowel. Based on the need for accurate assessment of inflammation, three different non-invasive techniques, two leukocyte scintigraphy techniques and one radiological method, were evaluated in the assessment of active inflammation in altogether 131 patients with ulcerative colitis. 22. Cell adhesion proteins in different invasive patterns of colon carcinomas : a morphometric and molecular genetic study
Sammanfattning : Colorectal carcinoma is the second most common type of cancer in both men and women in Sweden. Cancer of the colon and rectum are often considered together and their ten year survival rate is approximately 50 – 60 % depending on sex and location. LÄS MER
23. The dependency of image quality on acquisition protocol and image processing in chest tomosynthesis
Sammanfattning : The digital tomosynthesis (DTS) technique is a next generation of the old tomography technique, the use of which has been extended during the past decade. The interest in this technique has increased more and more in Radiology due to its ability to provide threedimensional images by acquiring a number of projection radiographs at lower radiation dose and potentially lower cost than CT in certain clinical situations. 24. Radiation dose and image quality in diagnostic radiology : optimization of the dose - image quality relationship with clinical experience from scoliosis radiography, coronary intervention and a flat-panel digital detector
Detta kallas på engelska ALARA-principen (As Low As Reasonably Achievable). LÄS MER
25. Factors related to outcome in patients with traumatic brain injury : with special reference to analysis with machine learning methods
Sammanfattning : Traumatic brain injury (TBI) is a leading cause of death in trauma. Neurointensive care (NICU) units have emerged to optimize treatments of the injured brain. The main objective is to identify and avoid conditions that lead to further insult and potential cell death. LÄS MER
