  1. 1. Visual response to attentional demand in increasing levels of automation: A situated approach

    Författare :Alberto Morando; Chalmers University of Technology; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; SOCIAL SCIENCES; real-world driving; naturalistic data; human factors; automation; visual behavior; driving demand; Attention;

    Sammanfattning : Introduction: Adaptive cruise control (ACC) is a system that automates the longitudinal control of the vehicle, and maintains safety margins to a lead vehicle. ACC has been shown to have positive safety effects in reducing the exposure to critical situations. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : Listen. If I ask you to listen, what is it that I ask of you—that you will understand, or perhaps obey? Or is it some sort of readiness that is requested? What occurs with a body in the act of listening? How do sound and voice structure audio-visual-spatial relations in concrete situations?This doctoral thesis in fine arts consists of six artworks and an essay that documents the research process, or rather, acts as a travelogue as it stages and narrates a series of journeys into a predominantly sonic ecology. 4. 4. Visual analytics for maritime anomaly detection

    Författare :María José Riveiro; Göran Falkman; Tom Ziemke; Dag Stranneby; Mikael Jern; Maria Riveiro; Örebro universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; visual analytics; anomaly detection; maritime traffic monitoring; analytical reasoning; information fusion; TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIKVETENSKAP; Information technology; Informationsteknik; Computer science; Datavetenskap; Computer and Systems Science; Data- och systemvetenskap; Technology; Teknik;

    Sammanfattning : The surveillance of large sea areas typically involves  the analysis of huge quantities of heterogeneous data.  In order to support the operator while monitoring maritime traffic, the identification of anomalous behavior or situations that might need further investigation may reduce operators' cognitive load. 5. 5. Analyzing real-world data to promote development of active safety systems that reduce car-to-vulnerable road user accidents

    Författare :Azra Habibovic; Chalmers University of Technology; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURVETENSKAP; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURAL SCIENCES; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Accident prevention; Naturalistic observation; Causation analysis; Active safety system; Vulnerable road user VRU ; Driver behavior; Functional requirements; Statistical analysis; VRU behavior;

    Sammanfattning : The overall objective of the thesis is to explore various types of real-world road traffic data and to assess the extent to which they can inform the design of active safety systems that aim to prevent car-to-vulnerable road user (VRU) accidents. A combined analysis of in-depth and police reported accident data provided information on driver behavior and contextual variables, which is valuable for the development of active safety systems.
