1. On particles and slags in steel casting
Sammanfattning : Hadfield steel is widely accepted as one of the most important steel alloys utilized in industrial applications where high impact strength and wear resistance is required. Like in most metallic alloys used for component casting, the mechanical properties of Hadfield steel are directly connected with the microstructure of the material. LÄS MER
2. Redesign of Alpha Class Glutathione Transferases to Study Their Catalytic Properties
Sammanfattning : A number of active site mutants of human Alpha class glutathione transferase A1-1 (hGST A1-1) were made and characterized to determine the structural determinants for alkenal activity. The choice of mutations was based on primary structure alignments of hGST A1-1 and the Alpha class enzyme with the highest alkenal activity, hGST A4-4, from three different species and crystal structure comparisons between the human enzymes. 3. Engineering Nanofluids for Heat Transfer Applications
Sammanfattning : Nanofluids (NFs) are nanotechnology-based colloidal dispersion prepared by dispersing nanoparticles (NPs) in conventional liquids, as the base liquid. These advanced fluids have displayed potential to enhance the performance of conventional heat transfer fluids. LÄS MER
4. Investigations of thermophysical properties of slags with focus on slag-metal interface
Sammanfattning : The objective of this research work was to develop a methodology for experimentally estimating the interfacial properties at slag-metal interfaces. From previous experiments carried out in the division, it was decided to use surface active elements like sulfur or oxygen to trace any motion at the interface. LÄS MER
5. Rheological Properties of Microfibrillated Cellulose
Sammanfattning : Cellulose has for a long time been used by man. It is renewable and an easily recyclable resource. Mostly it has been used in either its native form as wood or in the form of fibres. LÄS MER
