11. Dynamic Soil-Structure Interaction Analysis of High-Speed Railway Bridges : Efficient modeling techniques and Experimental testing
Sammanfattning : The work reported in this thesis presents a general overview of the resonant response of high-speed railway bridges considering soil-structure interaction. The study aims to identify the effect of the surrounding and underlying soil on the global stiffness and damping of the structural system. LÄS MER
12. New Experimental and Modelling Tools for Multiscale Characterization of Asphalt Mastic
Sammanfattning : Asphalt mastics act as a binding phase in asphalt mixtures and their rheological properties strongly affect the performance of asphalt mixtures with respect to virtually all damage modes. In order to measure mastics properties, relevant for field performance, testing should be performed at size-scales representative for the morphology and material inhomogeneity of asphalt mixtures. 13. Potato Starch Dispersions: Structure and Rheology
Sammanfattning : The influence of heating, shearing and addition of amylose on the structure and rheology of potato starch dispersions has been evaluated. The methods used were dynamic viscoelastic measurements, light microscopy and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). LÄS MER
14. Concrete creep and thermal stresses : new creep models and their effects on stress development
Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with the problem of creep in concrete and its influence on thermal stress development. New test frames were developed for creep of high performance concrete and for measurements of thermal stress development. Tests were performed on both normal strength and high performance concretes. 15. Resonance Testing of Asphalt Concrete
Sammanfattning : This thesis present novel non-destructive laboratory test methods to characterize asphalt concrete. The testing is based on frequency response measurements of specimens where resonance frequencies play a key role to derive material properties such as the complex modulus and complex Poisson’s ratio.
