  2. 2. Nutrient imbalance in Norway spruce

    Författare :Gunnar Thelin; Institutionen för kemiteknik; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Silviculture; Växtekologi; Plant ecology; nitrogen saturation; base saturation; pH; multiple limitation; deficiency; copper; boron; potassium; pollution; sustainability; conifers; forestry; forestry technology; Skogsvetenskap; skogsbruk; skogsteknik; Soil Science; agricultural hydrology; Lantbrukshydrologi; marklära;

    Sammanfattning : The studies presented in my thesis indicate that growing Norway spruce in monoculture does not constitute sustainable forest management in a high N and S deposition environment, such as in southern Sweden. The combination of N-induced high growth rates and leaching due to soil acidification causes soil reserves of nutrients to decrease. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Mineral element contents in drinking water - aspects on quality and potential links to human health

    Författare :Ingegerd Rosborg; Institutionen för kemiteknik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Teknik; Technological sciences; Naturvetenskap; Natural science; water treatment effects; hair concentrations; pH; magnesium; calcium; bicarbonate; drinking water; minerals;

    Sammanfattning : Mineral elements in drinking water have been in focus for more than a decade, especially as the habit of drinking bottled water has increased, not the least among young people. 4. 4. Shoulder pain after stroke: prevalence, contributing factors and consequences in daily life

    Författare :Ingrid Lindgren; Rehabiliteringsmedicin; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; sensory thresholds; range of motion; arm motor function; outcome; Stroke; shoulder pain; life satisfaction; participation; activities of daily living;

    Sammanfattning : Post stroke shoulder pain, PSSP, is a common type of pain after stroke, but still further knowledge of this condition is needed. An increased knowledge of prevalence, contributing factors and impact on the individual’s life could enhance the possibility to find more effective treatments and therefore more studies are needed. 5. 5. Spotting pain in the brain. Towards a useful animal model of pain

    Författare :Tanja Jensen; Neurofysiologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; analgesics; freely moving rat; microelectrode; Nociception; Primary somatosensory cortex; Sedatives;

    Sammanfattning : Current models of pain in conscious animals usually scores nocifensive responses. However, it is still unclear to what extent these responses are related to, for instance, the sensory discriminative or affective aspects of pain. LÄS MER
