6. Stability of statically and periodically loaded structures
Sammanfattning : In this thesis different kinds of stability phenomena are analysed. Firstly the quasi-static behaviour of an elastic structure is studied for increasing loading. LÄS MER
7. Structure-acoustic analysis; finite element modelling and reduction methods
Sammanfattning : This thesis investigates structure-acoustic systems by use of finite element analysis. The systems studied here are limited to those that consist of an enclosed acoustic fluid cavity, which is coupled to a flexible structure and/or a porous sound absorbing material domain. LÄS MER
8. On Premixed Gas Fuelled Stirling Engine Combustors with Combustion Gas Recirculation
Sammanfattning : The main objective in the research described in this thesis was to design and test the use of lean premixed combustion using combustion gas recirculation for gas fuelled Stirling engine combustors. A system using a flame-arrester type of flame-holder to stabilize the flame and an ejector system for the recirculation of combustion gas was designed and tested in the laboratory. LÄS MER
9. Characterization of the Homogeneous Charge Compression Ignition Combustion Process
Sammanfattning : The main objective of this project was to characterize the HCCI combustion process. Central parts in the project were the progress of the HCCI combustion process, the influence of charge homogeneity on the combustion process and sources of UHC and CO emissions in HCCI combustion. 10. Experiments and modelling of fracture initiation at impact
Sammanfattning : The thesis addresses different questions, each necessary in the understanding of dynamic fracture initiation and crack propagation in steel. Emphasis lays on dynamic crack propagation experiments performed in the ductile to brittle transition region and possible conclusions, that can be drawn from them. LÄS MER
